Obituary
Vanessa Jones affectionately known as Poochie, was born November 1, 1958, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the parents Sam and Vera Dell Jones. She entered eternal rest on July 25, 2024, at 65 years old. She resided in Washington, DC at the time of transition. Vanessa is preceded in death by a daughter Shaniece, who died at birth, her sisters Izetta Gordon and Sandra Gibbons, her brother Reneau Jones, parents Sam and Vera Jones, and a grandson Devell Melton Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Shanita Jones, grandson De’Sean Jones; eight siblings, Roslyn, Sherrilyn, Charita (Varnell) Vickey Dewayne (Brinda) Quenton (Sarah), Myra (Curtis), Jacqueline and Darryl; a host of nieces and nephews, close cousins, friends and loved ones!
