Barbara Ann (West) Harris
December 18, 1943 – May 17, 2023
Barbara Harris entered into eternal rest on May 17, 2023 at the Gilchrist Center in Columbia MD. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter William West and Arneta “Anita” D Flippen West, and husband Warwick “Buddy” Harris Jr. She attended elementary, jr. high and high school in East Orange NJ; started Essex County NJ College then earned a Bachelor and Masters degree at the University of Maryland. She was a retired Public Education Manager and Social Worker for Howard County MD Office of Aging. Barbara is survived by daughter Cher Harris and her daughter Bailey, son Chad Harris and his son Caleb and daughter Ahna, sisters Dolores Thomas (Levi) and Nancy Hall, sister-in-law Lisette Curry, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services on Saturday, June 10, 2023 visitation at 1:30 pm funeral at 2:00 pm at St. John Baptist Church 9055 Tamar Drive, Columbia MD 21045.
Reception after funeral at Hampton Inn 7045 Minstrel Way Columbia MD. Interment at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD 21117 on June 12, 2023 at 11:00 am. Services entrusted to Howell Funeral Home 10220 Guilford Road, Jessup MD.
